CSANM 458 - 3D Visual Effects

For students who want to specialize in more technical aspects of animation, this 3D Visual Effects elective provides students with a capacity to create stunning special effects. Because of its increasing use in both live-action and animated films, VFX is becoming an increasingly needed skill set in the industry. Students that elect to take this course learn the basics of particle, water, breaking, smoke, and fire sims as well as any other simulations they may want to explore (such as fur or cloth). Emphasis on being able to art-direct simulations and present them well is also a core part of this course.
